Frequently Asked Family Questions
What makes The Teaching Nanny stand apart from other
Nanny Agencies? We only place educated, experienced and
enthusiastic educators. We have an extensive screening
process to ensure each nanny will provide the appropriate
nurturing and developmentally appropriate education for the
children in their care. We also provide additional education
and support for all the nannies we place
What Backgrounds do Nannies Have? Our nannies have a
wide variety of backgrounds. A typical nanny we will place has
a 4 year degree in early childhood/education or a related field
and experience as a nanny or a teacher.
What is the Cost? Our referral fee is $800 for placements. A
$200 nonrefundable registration is due before you start
interviewing nannies.
What is the Video Profile? During each interview we take a
short video of each nanny who agrees to taking a video. After
you submit your profile and work order we will send you a video
profile and a text profile of any nanny you select.
What is the Resource area? The Resource area has forms,
websites, books, activity plans/ideas, newsletters and a lot of
other useful information. Families that have hired a nanny and
nannies that have been placed with a family will have access to
this area. The areas can be accessed from the families page
or the nannies page.
How much do nannies get paid? Nanny salaries vary widely
however the typical salaries can range from $10/hr to $18/hr
depending on education and experience.

they are interested in a particular nanny.

from 2 to 6 weeks to hire a nanny.

her duties.
How does the 1-year guarantee work? We screen our
applicants for those who can give a minimum of a one-year
commitment. We look at their backgrounds to see if they are
stable enough to keep a commitment. Since the nanny is your
employee, you are welcome to have a contract with her if you
would feel more comfortable. We would be happy to assist in
creating a contract for you at no additional fee. We give you a
one-year guarantee. That means if the nanny leaves within the
first year, we will replace her. The one year guarantee is for full
time nannies only.

If the nanny cancels her employment, the client will be refunded
the full amount of the placement fee, less the non-refundable

send to families each month will include information on
developmental milestones and suggested family activities as will
as information on various topics of interest to families.

are going to get the payment made within 48 hours of the
nanny accepting the position then the fee should be $720.

starting employment? We first provide each nanny at
